Pardon Me? Him? Her? Them? …

President Joe Biden, having already gone back on his word by pardoning his son, Hunter, of any misdeeds, issued blanket pardons Wednesday “to all Democrats – and maybe a select few Republicans – in Congress, as well as in other federal, state, and local offices or anywhere else for anything they have done or are contemplating doing.”

Biden, with 40 days remaining in office, said he was responding to President-elect Donald Trump’s comments that all members of the Select House Committee that investigated the Jan. 6 insurrection should “go to jail,” as well as protecting anyone on any “enemies lists” drawn up by Trump or his sycophants and lackeys.

I look at it this way,” Biden said. “I already crossed the Rubicon with Hunter, which had Republicans throwing a hissy fit. But they didn’t seem to mind Trump pardoning everyone from Joe Arpaio, Scooter Libby, and Bernie Kerik to Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Steve Bannon and – holy shit! – even Jared’s dad, Charles Kushner and making him ambassador to France. And you just know Trump’s going to pardon the QAnon Shaman and his twelve-hundred idiot best friends who stormed the Capitol, right?”

Asked whether issuing such a large number of blanket pardons might tarnish his legacy, Biden said he doubted he’d be around long enough to care what future history books would say about him, “and, besides, there’ll be so much shit written about Trump and his bloodbaths that there won’t be room for more than a couple of paragraphs about me.”

As Trump’s Jan. 20, 2025, inauguration draws closer, Senate Republicans appear to be waffling on whether to admit publicly that they oppose some of his nominees for cabinet positions, possibly fearing presidential retribution if they even hint that thugs, perverts, psychos, quacks, and morons like Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, Elise Stefanik, Mehmet Oz, Tulsi Gabbard, Kristi Noem, Linda McMahon, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are unqualified, unfit, or unbelievable candidates.

“When Mr. Patel creates a list of sixty so-called deep-state agitators,” Biden said, “and says it doesn’t even include what he calls ‘the entire fake news mafia press corps,’ and Mr. Trump endorses it as a ‘blueprint to … remove these gangsters from all of government,’ I’d say it’s appropriate for me to protect – well, I won’t mention any names of senators from South Dakota or Iowa or South Carolina or Maine or Alaska.

“But if they want to let me know – privately, in writing – how they’re going to vote in the confirmation hearings, namely whose asses they’re going to roast and reject,” Biden said, “I’ll add their names to the top of the list of asses I’m going to protect.”
